⁶ He held fast to the Lord, and he did not depart from following after him. He kept the commandments that the Lord had given to Moses. ⁷ The Lord was with him whenever he went forth and he prospered.

He rebelled against the king of Assyria and he refused to serve him. ⁸ He struck down the Philistines as far as Gaza and its territory, from its watchtower to its fortified city.
